Perma-Grit® Tools were developed in the UK by Ian Richardson, a World Champion scale aircraft model builder. Traditional tools are not efficiant at sanding or shaping composite materials, having the tendency to either chip or melt them. Ian found that tungsten carbide grit was the only abrasive that could solve the problem. These abrasive tools will cut the softest material through to some of the hardest, efficiently and give far better results. The tools are not recommended for use on steel.

The tools are easy to use, they cut in any direction, they are safe and extremely robust. They will not loose their cutting edge like conventional tools and will outlast sandpaper thousands of times. Perma-Grit Tools (Aust) Pty Ltd is based in Melbourne and we stock the range of Perma-Grit® Tools. The company is run by Graham Smit, an avid fan of the tools and who on moving from the UK found it difficult to source the tools localy and so opened an Perma-Grit Australia which now stocks a good range of the tools.
